One autumn evening in Orangefield, five-year-old Jody meets a silent playmate at the forest edge: a mechanical figure with clockwork limbs and a real carved jack-o'-lantern for a head. As children begin vanishing from their bedrooms, the town uncovers the legend of the Pumpkin Boy — an automaton sent by Samhain to gather souls before the harvest ritual.
